Studio Portraits

DogCollage Studio portrait sessions take place in my pop-up studio, near Chelmsford - or I can come to you (if space permits).

My studio sessions are designed to capture your dogs personality in a calm and controlled environment.  We work together to keep your dog comfortable, giving them time to relax between shots - creating a range of images that show off your dog's character.  Treats or toys will likely be involved - we do what works best for your dog.

Shoots generally an hour or so, but there is no rush - time is allowed at the start of the shoot for your dog to relax and get used to the environment.

I work with natural movement and expression - showcasing who they truly are.

In Nature Portraits

Labradoodle outdoor photo shoot If studio portraits aren't for you, my outdoor sessions are designed to capture your dog in a natural environment - exploring, running, and being themselves in the great outdoors.

This can be on your usual dog walk route, in a local park, nature reserve - we select a location that works for you and your dog - taking into account their personality, energy level, and recall considerations - as well as the look you prefer; open fields, woodland, the beach ...

On the day we will head out for a walk, shooting your dog in their natural environment, staging shots to align with the environment and your pet.

Before the Shoot - Planning and Preparation

All shoots include a pre-shoot planning session, where we will walk through how my shoots work, your dog and their personality, what motivates them, and what will work best for them during the shoot.

This will include

• do they know basic commands (eg sit, stay, lay down, etc)?
• are they comfortable off of the lead?
• Is there anything special about your dog that I should know/be aware of?

After the Shoot - Viewing and Ordering

After the shoot I will carefully select and edit the best of the images, and they are provided to you in a private online gallery.

You then select your favourite images for purchase in your own time.

Your dog deserves more than digital files sitting on a hard drive - as time goes by printed artwork turns those fleeting years into something more tangible - so I encourage you to consider printed artwork as well as digital images.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if my dog won’t sit still?
That’s completely normal! I work with movement and personality - patience and timing are part of the process.

Can I be in the photos?
Absolutely. If you’d like a portrait with your dog, just let me know.

What about nervous or reactive dogs?
Let’s talk about your dog’s needs - sessions can be tailored accordingly, and we can discuss the type of shoot that will work better for your dog.
